Constituency Meeting  - and beyond 

An enthusiastic group of parents and supporters met in the          
Greater Boston Academy gym Thursday evening, February 24, and listened to          
     -a presentation by the principal highlighting important features and events at the school; 
     -a budget presentation, with computer graphics, detailing the revised budget for this school term;
     -information about the  increase in tuition. The budget does not include any income from 
fund-raising. Instead we will use the fund-raising income to increase scholarship and financial aid awards.


After discussion, the budget and proposal for enhancing the school operations by 
     -focusing on the needs for strategic marketing and fund-raising, and 
     -the need to fund maintenance and repair, 
was voted and sent on the Stoneham Memorial Church for final approval. 


Greater Boston Academy and Edgewood Elementary plan to thrive. With over half of our 
student numbers in Pre-School through Grade 4, the future is bright. With careful and targeted marketing, 
we will increase the numbers in the academy grades so that GBA once again is self-sustaining. 

For next school term we will  inaugurate another classroom, splitting grades one and two into two classrooms.
